Amour

German-Austrian writer and director Michael Haneke delivers another masterpiece with this shattering film about love and old age. An elderly couple's love severely tested when one of them suffers a stroke. Haneke's devastating exploration is one of the most honest films ever made without a false note. While its subject matter might not be accessible, it's a universal topic that will resonate with everybody. Legendary actors Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva deliver sublime performances that's the heart and soul of the film. The supporting cast includes Haneke regular Isabelle Huppert with another solid performance. 1001 Films' coverage of the 65th Festival de Cannes.
